Ha Tinh Provincial Social Insurance Recovers Nearly 573 Million VND in Late Payments

Ha Tinh, Vietnam – April 7, 2025

In the first three months of 2025, the Ha Tinh Provincial Social Insurance department has successfully recovered nearly 573 million VND (approximately $24,500) in late payments for social, health, and unemployment insurance. This significant recovery effort was part of a series of inspections and checks conducted by the agency during the quarter.

Inspection Efforts Yield Results

Throughout this quarter, the Provincial Social Insurance department carried out three rounds of inspections aimed at identifying lapses in compliance among employers concerning their obligations for employee insurance. As a result, several findings prompted action from the department, including:

  • Registration Violations: The agency identified that 29 employees were not registered for social, health, and unemployment insurance. Consequently, the employers were prompted to resolve these issues, resulting in a recovery of over 20 million VND.

  • Adjustments in Contributions: The inspection process also led to adjustments concerning contribution levels and insurance participation processes for 154 employees. This adjustment amounted to nearly 291 million VND.

Addressing Misuse of Benefits

In addition to recovering late payments, the department also addressed instances of non-compliance with regulations around social insurance benefits. They identified and recovered funds from eight cases involving the improper receipt of benefits, which totaled more than 17.5 million VND.

Future Monitoring and Compliance Efforts

Looking ahead, the Inspection and Examination Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Social Insurance indicated plans to intensify monitoring of production and business activities in various units. Emphasis will also be placed on educating employers about their legal responsibilities regarding social, health, and unemployment insurance. The aim is to foster greater compliance and ensure that employees receive the benefits to which they are entitled.

This proactive approach reflects the commitment of the Ha Tinh Provincial Social Insurance department to ensure fairness and adherence to social insurance laws, ultimately supporting the welfare of the workforce in the region.
